On this project we provided pipework services for a new hybrid LTHW/cooling system and a chilled water system for the building.

Due to the space constraints on this site our project manager had to work very closely with the MEP designer, helping to negotiate pipework around existing obstructions and offer the best practical solutions to unforeseen clashes.

The chilled water system fed 3 separate plant rooms on each of the 10 floors, with each plant room consisting of a plate heat exchanger serving the FCU’s. Due to the short programme the pipework was both welded on site and pre -fabricated at our off-site workshop to increase output.

The Hybrid system integrated both the chilled water system and air source heat pumps pipework to serve air handling units. The pipework was a mixture of Victaulic and welded mild steel. Victaulic pipework was grooved onsite with Victaulic themselves visiting site regularly and producing reports for the client.

This project was also challenging logistically with multiple contractors having to use only one goods lift.

SOME OF THE TASKS THAT WE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED DURING THE CONSTRUCTION:
  • On site measuring and pre-fabrication of pipework.
  • Victaulic grooving of pipework
  • Installation of containment of pipework and valves 2.5”- 8”
  • Installation of steel bracketry
  • On-site welding
